What is a Graphic Designer?

Graphic designers create and combine symbols, images and text to form visual representations of ideas and messages. Designing posters, leaflets, billboards and catalogues.

The way I create graphic design materials is first I identify what the client is trying to about the product/organisation. Then I look at what is already out there in trend. Combining these two and developing the ideas with my style to try and get the right balance between all 3 ideas.

The main thing that I like making posters and leaflets in particular for graphic design. I like making these because I know how to do the layouts for these and it can allow me to make it very eye catching.

Some of my difficulties & How I improve

I find most difficult to try to stick to my own style, with so many styles out there it is hard not to show similarities to other designers work.

Another thing that I find hard is the typography being dyslexic does not help with trying to spell and get the right typeface, but I think I comes out ok in the end (some how)

I would like to learn more about sizing of the text and how different sizes mean different things and it all depends where it is placed on the design.

I like the audience to think more about the organisation and catch their attention with my work.

Parts I really enjoy

The thing that I enjoy the most knows that there will be happy clients and having my work out there show the product/organisation or problem and solution.

The simplest thing is actually the layout. Once I know more about the product/organisation then I can start visualising in my head what it is already going to look like. This is when I just start making lines and marks on paper (that looks like scribbles to you is highly detailed notes to me)
